While debugging in Xcode, open the Shared Libraries window with the menu Debug->Tools->Shared Libraries… and select the framework you are interested in. Does the path shown at the bottom of the window match the path to the debug version that you built? If not then you can set the environment variable DYLD_FRAMEWORK_PATH to the path of the directory that contains the debug version of your framework. Set this in the executable inspector for the executable you are debugging.
A common setup when you have a separate project for a framework and application is to have a common build product directory. Open the Xcode preferences and select the 'Building' item. Set a 'Customized lcoation:' for 'Place Build Products in:'. This causes the build products of all projects to be placed in the specified directory instead of in the project. This build products directory will be searched when building or debugging so you will automatically pick up the debugging version of your framework.

I was under the impression that once a framework was built with debug symbols, it was debuggable. Am I missing a step?
