Apple's own code sometimes makes a similar mistake. For example, on this
page:

Look at Figure 8 and the shell script code just after it. That shell script
is wrong. It says to use $BUILD_DIR, but as you rightly say, it needs to be
$BUILT_PRODUCTS_DIR or it won't work (because of these Deployment /
Development folders that Xcode is suddenly generating). m.
