My bad. You can't edit the paths for products, only sources to products which you've created.
But do open the Info window for the product and look at the Full path. Is it valid? If not, then that's the problem. The full path will be constructed from your build location plus the current buld configuration name.
In your first e-mail, you kept writing "Volumes/Porky/Development/MetroC/Metro6.3.2/". I hope that's it's just a typo, because it's invalid. The path should start with "/".
As an experiment, I would change the build location back to the default location, do a clean build, then look at the full path of the product. Change your build location and compare the two. Look at the tree built in the project folder against the one in your external location. Make sure permissions and such aren't getting in the way. Make sure the path of the product is exactly where it should be.
I'm guessing that the installation directory shouldn't be empty because you don't know what it's going to be relative to. So I would start by setting that to something, even if it's the same as your build directory. Anyway, I don't think that's the problem because the app should be debugged from the build directory, not the install directory.
