1. Is there a way to "find in target"? I know I can select files... can I select groups to search? But even that is tedious.

What might help you that, when you select e.g. target foo under the Targets node of the Groups & Files pane of your project, all the files in that target, esp. e.g. foo.m under the Compile Sources build phase, show up in the Detail View. You can just Select All in that view instead of trying to pick out the files you want under the project node of Groups & Files.

The downside of this approach is that, for many kinds of targets, there is no Copy Headers build phase, so your search will only occur in the code files, not the headers.
