Since upgrading to XCode 2 I've found that changes to my projects'
build styles don't stick.
For example, a new cocoa application project is created with the
development build style selected. If I change it (in the project's
Info window) to deployment, it's still built as development. When I
re-open the info window, I see that the build style has been reset to
development.
Older projects, already set to deployment before being opened in Xcode
2, cannot be changed to development.
I've tried Cleaning and even deleting the build directory to no avail.
Has anyone else seen this? Can you suggest a workaround?
This is a behavior change requested by developers who wanted to edit
their build styles in the Project Inspector without actually making a
different style active and triggering the need for a rebuild.
Changing the popup in the inspector doesn't change the active style
anymore, it just changes the style being edited.
There's a Set Active Build Style menu item in the Project menu, and you
can add the popup to your toolbar if you like.
