You're missing the new "feature" that code completion won't
automatically
pop up a list of completions.
You can adjust this setting the Xcode's preferences. The behaviour
is a bit weird sometimes though... auto-popup seems to work only if
you haven't started typing the name, e.g. you type "[NSString "...
I've also had some weird issues where code completion will
automatically complete something spontaneously - while I'm in the
middle of typing [rapidly] the name.
At least it works at all though - Xcode 1.x's code completion only
*once* worked on *one* of my development machines, and even then it
listed every method on every class, regardless of the type in
question (yes, this is with statically typed classes, not 'id')...
making it entirely useless. :( But of course, under Xcode 1.5 is was
that dog slow anyway - I'm glad to see a massive improvement in Xcode
2.0. I'm still testing the waters on it myself, but I'm leaning
towards keeping it.
While I'm here: Thanks also, as other people have already said, for
the better SCM functionality - it's good to finally get rapid
feedback on the modified status of files and so forth. All in all,
good work to the Xcode 2.0 team. :)
