I need to be able to see both the compiler command line and the output
from invoking the compiler as I am developing. One reason in
particular is that I am using cmake to generate xcode projects and I
need to be sure that all of the flags I am specifying are actually
being used. Even visualstudio lets you do this so there must be some
way... Since I'm rather new to developing on a mac (migrated from
gmake/emacs on linux) I tried opening up every type of "log" window I
could, but I couldn't find the output anywhere.
Depends on which version. The ones I have are
1.5: In the Detailed Build Results (CMD-SHFT-B), the bar
at the bottom shows a dimple; drag that up to reveal
the command-line being executed, and the output
therefrom
2.0: There is a row of 4 icons at the bottom of the top
subwindow of the Build Results (CMD-SHFT-B) window.
One of them reveals the build transcript (leaving
the cursor over each will reveal its meaning).
