This is the intended behaviour of Xcode 1.5. Fortunately enough, this
change was reverted in Xcode 2.0, and it's now once again possible to
do all editing in one window.

Xcode 1.1 used to do this for me. But Xcode 1.5 does not. If I
double-click on the error, it opens it up in a new window.
I find it much simpler to have everything in one pane, what with
billions of windows flying around it's much easier to keep the
number cut down. So opening up the file in a new window doesn't help.
