Problem with projects located on samba volumes

The other day, I opened a project on a samba volume at home. Now, when
I'm at work, and that samba volume is not available, trying to open a
project from the "Recent Projects" menu puts XCode into what seems to be
an infinite retry loop, as evidenced by the following messages in my
system.log:
May 24 11:00:31 lisa automount[465]: Can't mount homer:/root on
/private/Network/Servers/homer/root: Network is down (50)
May 24 11:00:31 lisa automount[465]: Attempt to mount
/automount/Servers/homer/root returned 50 (Network is down)
May 24 11:00:31 lisa automount[252]: Can't mount homer:/root on
/private/Network/Servers/homer/root: Network is down (50)
This goes on for as long as XCode is open, and the XCode interface
beachballs until I Force Quit. As soon as I do, the messages in
system.log stop.
The only workaround I have is to manually browse to project files
instead of opening them from the Recent Projects menu. This is
disappointing.
I'm going to open a bug after I send this, but I wanted to post here
first to see if anyone's found a better workaround, or even if there's
some way I can manually clear out my Recent Projects list when this
happens. If anyone has a good way to work around this, I'd be happy to
hear it.
