Since upgrading to 10.4.3, is anyone able to make a new project with new
help files, newly indexed by the new Help Indexer app, that actually works?
I've got two symptoms.
(1) Mac Help no longer works at all. That is, choose Help > Mac Help in the
Finder, and nothing happens. Help Viewer opens, but stays blank.
(2) And, when I make a test app and give it some help files (indexed, proper
html tags, etc., plus correct plist entries), help doesn't work there
either. Same symptoms. The console shows the name of my help, suggesting
that Help Viewer is finding everything okay, but Help Viewer stays blank.
Old existing help (including projects I've written myself) still works fine.
This leads me to think that there is something wrong with help newly
generated on Tiger, and perhaps in 10.4.3 specifically. I've had no problems
in the past, but this is a new Help Indexer app that I've never used before,
and I'm wondering if it's the cause of the trouble.
If you can get a NEW help book NEWLY created and generated on 10.4.3 to
work, please send me the whole project so I can see what you are doing
differently from me. Thx - m.
