Didn't I read the debugger starts now automatically when your app fails somehow, recently? Xcode 2.2's release notes could be your friend.

My application was failing. I didn't even notice because I wasn't used to the debugger automatically loading when my application failed.

... and how can I disable it?

At worst, you'd have to start the app using the Finder or in Terminal. For the latter, just type the path of the inner binary: .../.../MyFavourite.app/Contents/MacOS/MyFavourite

This is how I realized my application was failing. Thanks for the tip.

HTH,
Markus

Thanks,

Trevor

P.S.: With an debugger attached, your app should run almost as fast as without. There seems to be something else odd.
