Xcode 1.5 and SharedCaches folder

In my project's build directory there is a SharedCaches folder which I understand is where the precompiled headers are cached. I have noticed though there are quite a few folders with a variety of modification dates. Is it safe to remove all but the most recent one or will Xcode get confused? A google search didn't reveal anything nor did posting on Apple Discussions nor a couple of other Mac related sites receive any response. A list archive search also did not turn up any relevant responses. Thanks.
