Hi Scott,

1. Can I add machines that are on a different subnet? I don't see a way to, but is there a file that i can manually edit to achieve this?

This is a known limitation in Xcode 2.1 that we have fixed for the next version.

I am running xcode 2.2 Preview 1

2. I installed code on my other workstation and shared it out in xcode distributed builds preferences. It shows up, but says "incompatible os" I dont get it. Both are running the exact same version of Tiger and Xcode 2.

If you share both machines (so they show up in the list) then you can compare the tooltips on the compatibility column to see exactly why Xcode thinks there is an incompatibility.

If I look at the tooltips I see:

Compatible:
OS: 8.2.1
distcc: 373
compiler: 3.3

incompatible:
OS: 8.2.0
distcc: 373
compiler: 3.3

Both are running Tiger and both have all software updates, so something else is wrong here

Do you have any thoughts?

-jason
