i can't believe it! upgraded developer tools from ADC and xcode has no lag at all saving my large file! this makes programming a breeze instead of a chore.
too bad i can't do a batch compile, making a distribution build requires 5 compiles for me. osx 10.2.8, osx 10.4, intel osx 10.4, different version of the program 10.2.8 and different version of the program 10.4. the different versions are plugins for the older program, the newer program has different interfaces.
oh well, pipe dreams...

The latest version (as far as I know) is 4.2.2 - you should upgrade to this version.

time profile, it does nothing at all except pretend it's doing something and then display nothing and shows start again

"Time Profile" is the one you should be using. But I don't know why it wouldn't show you any results. maybe the new version would work better.
I assume you did do the sampling during a time when your code would have been being used - i.e. you need to do whatever it is with the program that causes your code to get called.
And note that it is best to compile your program with debugging symbols so that Shark can show you the source lines.
You should read the docs & tutorial that are available from Shark;s Help menu.
