Distributed compiles
Distributed compiles

I'm running Xcode 2.1 on both my Powerbook G4 (1.25Ghz) and my Mac Mini
(1.25 GHz) - OSX 10.4.2. I have enabled distributed compiles on the Mini and
am building my project on my Powerbook. I had thought that distributed
compiles was an additive feature. That is, adding CPU's to the build process
via Distributed Compiles would enable multi-processing of the build process.
However, my Powerbook does not compile any source files - all compiling is
distributed to the Mini. I was expecting that both the Mini and PB would be
compiling away and that by using both systems (processors) that I could cut
my compile times in half. Since both Macs have the same processor speed
there is no advantage to using Distributed Compiles unless the PowerBook
also compiles in parallel with the Mini. This isn't happening. The
documentation doesn't comment on the distribution process in terms of local
vs. remote compiling. Is this the way it's supposed to work ?
Thanx -
Alec
