Command line tools from PEF?

Forgive me if I don't know this bit of information...

Is it possible to make a command line tool, with the PEF format?

I'm in the unenviable position of having an awkward requirement made from me by the boss. They have this app that "injects" security code into an app, for copy protection. "Injection" basically means the some tool mucks about with the PEF internals of a compiled app, and inserts code that wasn't compiled in.

Which I think is detestable. It's bad practice, and a pain to use. But what can I do if the company is requiring this from me?

Basically, I need some transparent way to get information from a PEF app, into a MachO app. So using AppleEvents won't help, because the other app will be displayed in the dock.

The app I want to get information from, needs to be a PEF app, because this "protector" tool only foobars (injects) PEF apps.

So, I was thinking of making it a command line tool. But I seem to get the impression that this is either not possible, or almost never done??

Honestly, I know that this is wrong, because no matter what protection scheme you use, any half competant cracker can crack it. So there is no need to use this particular copy protection library, it's no better than one I could make my own (and I've made many in the past). But there you go, requirements from above... What can you do?

If someone wants to tell me this is the wrong list to ask this question, please tell me the right list. I looked at all the lists on http://lists.apple.com/mailman/listinfo and none of them talk about PEF command line apps. (Probably for a reason that it's not possible?)
