Using Tiger 4.2 and XCode 2.1.
In setting up the usual macro for ORGANISATIONNAME I had a few
questions come to mind.
In the following I am using the path prefix of
Volumes/Tiger 10.4.2/Library/Application Support/Apple/Developer Tools/
(0) In the various ../File Templates there are other macros such as
DATE, FILENAME, etc.
The format for the DATE is not one I like, namely dd/mm/yy.
I prefer YYYY/MM/DD. So where can I find the DATE macro in XCode?
I'd like to override it in PBXCustomTemplateDefinitions.
Is this the acceptable way to do it? (i.e. will it persist across
XCode releases?)
(1) In the ../File Templates/CocoaObjective-C NSDocument
subclass.pbfiletemplate
the class.m file shows
// ¬'FILENAME¬ª (option-l'FILENAMEoption-loption-9)
But in the ../Project Templates/Application/Cocoa Document-based
Application
the MyDocument.m file shows MyDocument.m rather than <<FILENAME>>
Now it seems to me that if I want to make a new document project
called Monty, for example,
that it would be nice to have the source files named Monty.h, Monty.m
and the nib file named Monty.nib.
Whereas now they are named MyDocument.m etc. If I want that changed I
have to edit that myself. Pity.
So is there a way to set things up so that I can do this in XCode?
Offhand it seems that one would need to use the appropriate File
Templates to create new files named
Monty.h, .m, .nib and then expand the macros.
Or should one do this in Python or some such?
(Or is this being too anal?)
Suggestions/Comments solicited.
respect...
Peter
