Do you have distributed builds turned on, or have you ever have them
turned on? I have noticed this type of odd behavior (Build for ppc/
intel, the ppc will build fine the intel will get errors that don't
exist in the source code anymore, build again (with no changes) and
it works fine on both targets) when I have dist builds enabled, or
have had them enabled recently (in the same xcode session). I assume
it is some weird cacheing issue with distcc, but have no way
currently to verify this fact. Or even a reliable way to reproduce it.

Xcode doesn't in fact work the way you imply it does above: it
always compiles only from saved files. So your problem as noted
above isn't expected behavior.
