Finder won't open Xcode projects

  • Subject: Finder won't open Xcode projects

Another developer and I are encountering the same odd behavior in Xcode 2.1. When we double-click the .xcode or .xcodeproj file in the Finder, Xcode jumps to front application, but the project doesn't open. Clearly the "Open With: " is set to XCode, because XCode launches or becomes key (and this is verified with a Get Info on the projects). Throwing away my .plist file for Xcode doesn't help either. Furthermore, it feels like this behavior started with 10.4.1, but I don't have any hard data to support that.

It's really annoying to always have to navigate the "Open" menu in Xcode to get to the project I want to edit. That two 17" PowerBooks, each with independent installations of 10.4 and Xcode 2.1 both exhibit this problem is very strange to me. Any ideas what I can do to resolve this? I've done some Googling, gone through the forums and checked Apple's website. I just don't see anything to reference this issue, but maybe I'm just blind to the obvious.

Thanks in advance for any insight someone can shed on this problem,

Christopher Drum
