I've recently been noticing the following situation with Xcode:
Xcode seems to lose track of the Y component of the mouse's position.
When this happens, Xcode will respond as though the mouse pointer is
higher on the screen than it is. So for example, a click and drag in
an editor window will select text, but the selected text will not be
in the same area covered by the drag. The behavior affects the entire
window-- so if I click at the right point in the text, the "build"
button responds.
If this doesn't make sense-- see the movie! I know it sounds like I
must be smoking something, and I've asked about a bit and so far not
found anyone else who's seen it. So, I used Snapz Pro to record the
behavior. See it in action at
<http://www.atomicbird.com/files/blog/XcodeScreenSnapz002.mov> (30
seconds, 884kB).
This is with Xcode 2.2.1 on 10.4.6. It happens both on my G4
Powerbook and on a MacBook Pro. It also happens regardless of whether
I use the laptop trackpad or an external USB mouse.
I've already reported the bug as #4514370, but I was wondering if
anyone else had seem the problem.
