Alas, there is no decent Objective C API for generic SQL at the moment

The MacSQL Framework <http://www.rtlabs.com/fwork/> offers a result set/row API along with an Interface Builder palette to build simple applications without any coding. Works with MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server, OpenBase, and FrontBase. Also includes a licensed MySQL client, so you can develop a product that uses MySQL without having to pay MySQL for a license. At about the same cost as getting a client license from MySQL. And you can download the full version to try before you buy.
