help window config problem: can't find user guide

Hi,

I could not see any reference to the following (admittedly minor) problem with XCode in the archives.

The "XCode Help" in the left hand side list in the help window is supposed to bring up the XCode user guide. It doesn't. Instead, I get the following error message (line breaks added by me to improve legibility):

<quote>
Could not find file

/documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/XcodeUserGuide//
Volumes/MiniCat/Developer/ADC Reference Library/
documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/XcodeUserGuide/
Contents/Resources/en.lproj/index.html.

Perhaps it was moved or deleted?
<unquote>

I can only dismiss with an OK button (a locate button would be great).

Point to note:

* the path in the dialog doesn't seem split. It actually spans 5 lines because it wraps.

* the double slash is indeed there

* MiniCat is the name of the disk where I installed the developer tools. It is not my system disk. There is a symbolic link in the system disk, named "Developer", which points to the "/Volumes/MiniCat/ Developer" directory.

* Xcode version is >= 2.2

* The user guide file exists just fine. Its path name is the one quoted, starting with the double slash: "/Volumes/MiniCat/Developer/ ADC Reference Library/documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/ XcodeUserGuide/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/index.html"

So it looks like it is a "side effect" of the symbolic link thing, which should work as the read me file for XCode says it can be done. No other bug or misbehavior shows up.

I am pretty sure this can be fixed easily: how are the paths set for the help files?

Thanks a million.

Jean-Denis
