I can't seem to find this...where is it?
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/DeveloperTools/Conceptual/XcodeUserGuide/Contents/Resources/en.lproj/03_03_ed_editor_window/chapter_19_section_3.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40002679-SW11 By default, Xcode opens the file or symbol counterpart in the same editor; however, you can have Xcode open counterparts in a separate editor window. This makes it easy to view both a header and its implementation file, or a symbol declaration and its definition, at once. To have Xcode open counterparts in a separate window, open the General pane of Xcode Preferences and select “Open counterparts in same editor” in the Editing options. Your other suggestions are well-known and we'll be working on smoothing out the window handling of Xcode in the future. Chris |
