Right...this is the layout I use and like, but I very often open
source files that aren't part of the project I'm working on 'cause I
want to use that code in some way. If it opens in the main project
window, I have to use the contextual menu or do what I described
earlier. Otherwise, it disappears if I click on another source.

I have this enabled already.
