As I am new to Xcode excuse me if my question is off-topic. As I was using it yesterday and the CodeSense kicks in it displays a list of completions so sometimes I just want to dismiss it. Unfortunately when I press Esc instead of dismissing the suggested list a upside-down question mark is inserted. Any hints? Thanks.

The upside-down question mark designates an "unprintable character," most likely the escape character itself. I suspect that "escape" must not be bound to "cancel completion." Check your Xcode Preferences > Key Bindings to make sure it is.

That did the trick. Thanks
