I noticed that Xcode 2.4.1 builds my project in different way on the different hardware:
on MacPro quad it compiles by 4 files
in PowerMac dual G5 it compiles by 2 files
but on MacBookPro (Core 2 Duo) it compiles by single file
just as on iMac G5

is it possible to setup xcode on Core 2 Duo (MacBookPro) in such a way
that it will compile by 2 files (it has 2 cores and I can see that 2 cores in the
Processor preferences)

If I've read some posts on Intel Macs correctly, one of the cores are disabled by
default. There should be a setting to turn both cores on in System Preferences.

Both cores are definitely enabled by default. Xcode should also compile two files at a time by default.
