Also, does anyone know if Apple has a comprehensive list of all the official symbols for all the weird keys on the keyboard, or is this all just folk legends
Well, they're hardly "weird" or "folk legends," as those are the ISO standard symbols for those key functions, and they appear instead of the verbal descriptions on over 60% of Mac keyboards, that is, all keyboards sold outside of the USA. (Where people have strangely enough not accepted the international standard symbols.)
Incidentally, the answer you're looking for is "page down." You can even type it in an email message without resorting to ASCII art: ⇟
