| I'm still experiencing with XCode 2.2.1 and I wonder the best
| way to manage the Debug and the Release version of a Framework.
| In order to use my Framework which stands in my "Code"
| directory, I create a link (at ~/Library/Frameworks/), either
| to Debug/Framework or Release/Framework directory and I
| change the link, depending on what I need (debug or speed)
|
| Is there a better way to switch from Debug to Release version
| of a Framework, and vice versa ?
| (thru versioning ?)
Here is what I do with my project :
-- Add a cross-project link to my framework inside of my "main" Xcode
project.
-- Have all framework projects output with "_debug" when building the
Debug version. To do this, change your "Product Name" setting.
-- Add links to the frameworks in my "Targets" under "Groups & Files".
Xcode magically picks up the "_debug" version when you are targeting the
Debug version. There is a small glitch with this in that sometimes Xcode
is looking for the Release-named framework, but you can fix this by
changing the Active Configuration from Debug --> Release --> Debug. I
believe there is already a bug report on this issue.
-- I have all projects output to the same directory and also add a "Copy
Files" build phase to place the needed frameworks inside the application
bundle. I had no success debugging my main executable until I added this
step.
Hope that helps,
