Is there any working example for an iTunes Visualization plugin
out there? I mean anything that works under the latest XCode.
My experience is motly limited to Objective C and Cocoa and I
couldn't understand what was going wrong.
I got it working not long ago by commenting out the things that
doesn't compile in GCC 4. It was not that difficult. An alternative
might be to try to compile it using some older version of GCC.
The bottom line though is that this SDK is not particularly friendly
to an Cocoa+ObjC programmer. It's based on crufty old deprecated
QuickDraw, and it's very, very, painful to get it to draw using any
other API.
I'm sorry to say this - and I might be all wrong - but I think that
if you can't get this SDK to compile, you don't stand a chance of
using it. I would suggest that you, and anyone else interested in
using the iTunes plugin SDK , file a bug report to Apple and ask for
an update - one that's not using only deprecated APIs...
It should also be noted that the Windows version of the SDK includes
stuff that's not available in the version for Mac OS X. That's just
plain shameful. Bad iTunes programmers! Where do you have your
loyalties?
