I'm quite new to XCode. I have been using Visual C++ for quite a few years.
I have a PC and a Mac sitting right here beside each other right now.
I do miscellaneous things, including some programs for research that are
plain vanilla C and C++. I think that C++ in XCode is every bit as good
as in Visual C++. Now I would rather use XCode. If you use VirtualPC,
you will seriously slow yourself down, which is that last thing you want
in most simulations. You probably want the usual console environment--
standard input and output. To get that, when you start your project,
choose "Command Line Utility" and under that choose "C++ Tool" for C++
and "Standard Tool" for C. --Wes

Hi all,

Just a general question:

I would like to develop a C++ simulation program on my
Mac machine. However, I have been told that the best
route is use VirtualPC and then install Microsoft
Visual C++.Net since it is the most popular
environment for C++. On the other hand, I have been
told that Virtual PC runs veryslow and it takes for
ever to deal with compling and compatibility issues.
Therefore, I have decided just to use Xcode
environment to develop a C++ program.

First, does anyone have an opinion about the above.
Also, what is the best starting point to learn about
Xcode and setting up a C++ environment -- a website
link or a tutorial book would be nice. Thanks.
