Xcode debugging: Stopped at breakpoint, but not

  • Subject: Xcode debugging: Stopped at breakpoint, but not

Hello again everyone,

Thanks again for everyone's responses regarding my last question. I seem to be able to debug if I delete the application executable every time I make a change and that forces Xcode to link in the new code.

I am further along in my efforts to get our application running (we used to be a CodeWarrior CFM app), however, now I am experiencing a crash (which does not surprise me in the new environment). So I've set my breakpoints before the area of the code that the crash occurs in. However, Xcode will "break" at my breakpoint, but I do not see any source or callstack, nor are the "restart", "continue", "step over", "step into" or "step out" buttons enabled.

I've tried:

1. Simply Terminating the app and then "Debug".
2. (1) + "Build and Debug"
3. (1) + deleting the application executable and "Build and Debug".
4. (1) + quitting Xcode, relaunching Xcode, open our project, "Build and Debug"
5. (1) + quitting Xcode, logging out, and trying to "Build and Debug" our app.
6. All of the above, plus setting a breakpoint even farther from the problem area.

Yet I am unable to get Xcode to actually break properly. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
Lyndsey Ferguson
