Another reason to start with the Java JNI Application template. :)
Well, starting with a Java JNI Application template and cutting out the
stuff you don't need WOULD work -- if it weren't for the fact that the
Java JNI Application template seems to INSIST on compiling my .c code
with the C++ compiler.
So the compile fails, and I haven't found a way to stop it from using
C++! There are "Info" options to specify the source type, and I've used
them, but the Java JNI Application template appears to ignore them and
FORCE the compiler to be C++.
Is this a bug?
If so, maybe it's fixed in Xcode 2.2.x. I'll find out this afternoon.
I bought a copy of Tiger yesterday, and I'm starting NOW to upgrade one
of my Macs (the only one with a built-in FireWire port). My local Apple
Store (Palo Alto) got the new Intel iMacs, yesterday, and I just might
buy one of those, too (the Prophet Steve lives in my neighborhood, just
a few blocks away, you can bump into him at the store most weekends).
What I *REALLY* want is an Intel-based Mac mini, and I was a bit
disappointed that it didn't get introduced this week. That's because I
do multi-platform software development, and a mini is ideal to set up
with a DVI KVM to share my keyboard, mouse, and large-screen monitor ...
