I can build the Universal Bs, but I'm getting this error in the
console when making a package with PackageMaker:
... for architecture i386 object: <my app> malformed object (unknown
flavor for flavor number 0 in LC_UNIXTHREAD command 13 can't byte
swap it)
As stated before, I got the same error message (error command was
"16", though).
Back then, I used different targets to build the ppc and i386
binaries, and used the lipo command to manually create the Universal
binary.
Now I changed my project to create the Universal automatically, and
the PackageMaker's error command changed to "14".
At the moment we run all our tests on the i386 system (it's still the
DTS, didn't get the Core Duo yet), and everything seems to behave
"normal".
Maybe this message isn't as critical as it sounds, but I'd like to get
some more qualified answers as well...
Since your original message, we've looked into this internally and now
we know what's going on here.
The message is benign and it won't show up on an Intel-based Mac. It's
essentially a sign that some changes that were required for Intel
haven't yet shipped on PowerPC, but those changes aren't really
required for packaging.
In other words, as much as I hate to tell anyone to ignore an error
message, you can safely ignore this one. The resulting package will be
fine.
Hope this helps,
Eric
