I'm not attending WWDC either, but I would certainly like to vote for incorporating the GCC Ada compiler into the Apple GCC 4.x distribution. The macada.org distribution is based on the GCC 3 sources, which makes it difficult to integrate with C/C++ libraries and apps built with the GCC 4.x compiler.

Adding the Fortran compiler would be most excellent too. I realize there are alternatives here too, like the HPC project on SourceForge, NAG, Absoft, and Intel. However, having the GCC f95 integrated into the standard Apple distribution would be extremely useful.

I am not able to attend WWDC but I surely like to see the following:

1. Apple's plan to incorporate Ada compiler (gnat) into Xcode. At present, the Ada compiler (gnat) is maintained independently by macada.org as well as individuals.

2. Apple's processor roadmap for PowerMac and if there is a possibilities to adopt AMD. AMD is known for lower power consumption than Intel.

3. If any plan for making cross-platform GUI application development possible by making GTK native to Apple's. At this moment, it is an open source project (http://gtk-osx.sourceforge.net).

Action Item:

If you're going to WWDC please let me know what your top 3
expectations are and what help you need to bring your product to the
next level!

1. As we are occupied with development of scientific software I would love to see
something about how the 64 bit architecture from AMD/Intel will be incorporated
into the system alongside with some sort of processor roadmap.
This would make it easier for us to make plans for future cluster-nodes and
the like.

2. I just can't wait to see the Leopard demo. I am very interested in directions Spotlight
will take, as it had a strong impact on how I manage my documents ( I don't :) ) alongside
with its integration into Finder and to talk and listen to Apple- experts about how to
leverage all those new features coming with Leopard.

3. I am looking forward to meet other developers and exchange some creative thoughts
with them.

Alexander
