Action Item:
If you're going to WWDC please let me know what your top 3
expectations are and what help you need to bring your product to the
next level!
This seems to become a thread about what we expect from XCode rather
than WWDC, but ok...
1) Fix CodeSense/Code Completion. It is far too fragile, slow and
buggy, seemingly especially with C++/Objective-C++. Take a good look
at "Visual Assist X" and port it/buy it/get them to port it. It is
that good, it makes me prefer coding under Windows and that's saying
a lot!
2) Fix Code Navigation. It's just too slow, misses a few features and
is buggy (the bugs might be connected to CodeSense). Again, take a
good look at "VA X" in combination with Visual Studio, although I
seem to remember even CW8 used to be better in this regard.
3) Fix debugging. DWARF made it a lot better but there are still
serious bugs and usability could be a lot better, I am clicking
around far too much compared to other (far older) environments.
I guess what I am saying: Before you add other Toolkits, other
Languages, other Architectures or any other features not everybody
needs, fix the stuff that's already there and *every* developer needs
day in and day out. So I only have 1 expectation:
1) Fix XCode!
Greetings,
Dix
