Newbie question on Universal Binaries and Symbolic Links

  • Subject: Newbie question on Universal Binaries and Symbolic Links

Hello,

This happened to me before work so I'm on a PC now. I'll do a Man ln later
but I thought I'd ask the question just in case there is something odd about
this case.

I issue the following in Terminal in my home directory.

sudo mkdir -p /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/Library/Frameworks

sudo ln -s /Library/Frameworks/Inventor.framework \
/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/Library/Frameworks/

I get the error
Ln: /Developer/SDKs/MacOSX10.4u.sdk/Library/Frameworks/ : No such file or
directory

Any idea what is going on?

This is all due to the fact that changing a setting on the, I believe ,
General tab (for isysroot) makes the compiler look under MacOSX10.4u.sdk.
Thus I suspect that the frameworks are not being found and the compiler
barfs. This paragraph is from memory. I left the png's (screenshots) at
home.

John F. Richardson
