"Definitions" is an index lookup, is faster, but doesn't support regexes.  The UI reflects the mutually-exclusive search modes.

I don't believe I've ever wanted to do that before. That said, I tend
to agree. The textual versus regular expression distinction makes
sense. I'd think that Definitions would be in the upper popup.
