I just tried it on /usr and it didn't become visible yet no .hidden file

Creating an empty one didn't work for me, but a quick Google search:
http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/macosxhints/2006/07/showallfinder/index.php
I can summarize that: First run this in a Terminal:
$ defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
Then relaunch Finder. Holding option and clicking Finder in the dock
gives one way. Another is to bring up the Force Quit dialog by hitting
cmd+option+esc -- Finder can't be force-quit, only relaunched.
Rebooting works too.
To undo this:
$ defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles NO
We are talking about Finder, right?
