As Chris has been hinting, the advantage of the Xcode approach is
searching. I typed "C++" into the search field and got 20 settings. I
then changed the Collection popup to Warnings and got a list of 7
warnings specific to (or at least relevant to) C++.
I find build configuration UI in Xcode to be much more helpful then
the hunting I often have to do in other IDEs... and one reason for
that is the search and collection capabilities it provides.
I hope Apple pushes forward with this style and adds sensible addition
searching/filter capabilities (what they have now is rather good
IMHO).
