I did both of those things and still don't see proper SCM
information. I think it just must not be properly handled by XCode,
as others have said. Too bad. Thanks!

Anytime you change repository information "behind Xcode's back,"
remember to use SCM > Refresh Entire Project or simply close and
reopen the project. Xcode occasionally polls the SCM system to
check for changes, but it doesn't do it that often.
