I can option-click in a close box, and all the windows close, but

Is there a way to do this? I couldn't find it in the key bindings.
No, but it's on our list of things to do.

Could the close box and the command also default to close the "File",
and not just the "Window"? It's quite disconcerting to quit Xcode and
have it ask me if I want to save half a dozen files that I've long
since forgotten about, whose windows are long gone. At that point,
there's not even a way to check to see if I want to save the contents
of "Untitled-12" or not.
I realize that there can be several different windows (or "views") open
for a given file, and closing a window isn't always synonymous with
closing a file. However, it should be possible to detect a window that
has no backing store, or has never been saved to disk, or has no other
remaining "views" open.
Is that worth a "feature request"?
Thanks.
Scott
