Whoa! Didn't want to start a Cocoa/Carbon argument, which is why I stressed that my reasons were personal. I think its great that there are lots of third party apps written in Cocoa for the Mac, its just I'm not sure yet that its the right way for me to go.

I've been reading this with interest. I've got a C++ library that makes some (sparing) use of exceptions. We're not writing a Mac interface yet (much to my annoyance), but I've been thinking about whether Cocoa or Carbon would be a better way to do it. We had an Apple developer tell us this that Cocoa on C++ was *the* way to do cross platform development a few years ago, but he didn't explain.

So what exactly are the issues? And if it is off-topic to xcode- users, where would it on topic?
