In a couple weeks I'm going to be starting a graduate level computer

science course on analysis and testing approaches for OO software.

Specifically, the course involves applying those techniques to real world

code by writing plug-ins for the Eclipse IDE. I was hoping to approach the

prof with a proposal to replace the Eclipse plug-in projects with similar

Xcode plug-in projects.

In a quick search I can turn up 3 or 4 third-party Xcode plug-ins, and

one third-party tutorial on extending Xcode by providing support for other

compilers, but I can't seem to find any documentation on the Xcode plug-in

interface itself. Can anyone point me in the direction of any information on

anything related to writing Xcode plug-ins?

We don't at this point have a public, supported plug-in mechanism for Xcode.
