I loaded Xcode 1.5 on my desktop directly from the download site.
I did not have the developer tools installed at all prior to this.
My laptop has 1.2 loaded as the first release. There is more
documentation and examples on the 1.2 install than on the 1.5
install. I have noticed that the updates have random size, which
suggests the updates are cumulative.
What is the proper strategy to install developer tools? Do I need
to start with the oldest release, then install each update
sequentially? Is the first release of 1.x on the web site or on the
10.3 install disks only?
The rule is that Xcode releases are self-contained, and you are
actually advised to use the /Developer/Tools/uninsall-devtools.pl
script before installing a new release.
