Are Xcode updates cumulative or combined?

  • Subject: Are Xcode updates cumulative or combined?

I loaded Xcode 1.5 on my desktop directly from the download site. I did not have the developer tools installed at all prior to this. My laptop has 1.2 loaded as the first release. There is more documentation and examples on the 1.2 install than on the 1.5 install. I have noticed that the updates have random size, which suggests the updates are cumulative.

What is the proper strategy to install developer tools? Do I need to start with the oldest release, then install each update sequentially? Is the first release of 1.x on the web site or on the 10.3 install disks only?

Thank you,

Scott
