This is a bit off topic.

But check at
http://search.cpan.org/search?query=google&mode=all

There's a lot of perl module ready to use for Google API.

Some of them will not install properly with perl version distribute by MacOSX, so I suggest to install the perl version of DarwinPort and work with espceial for any XML purpose.
