End of file (EOF) in Xcode question

Hi,
how can I send EOF to a simple C command line program executed inside
Xcode's pseudo terminal facility?
In many shell this is performed with Control-D (^D), but within Xcode it
doesn't work.
I searched with Google but I've not been able to find the answer (and
the page to search in the lists archives [1] actually isn't working).
