You'll have to provide more details on exactly what your app is doing at
the time the error occurs.  All we know is your earlier general description:
  Everytime I try to have my application edit a file I have already
  created it gives me "Apple Script Error -1409".

Is your application written in AppleScript?  If so, you'd be better off
posting your question to one of the applescript lists:
