Most notably, iTunes 7.0.2 has a note attached to it saying it fixes
a bug that causes audio stutter.

As for disk access, that shouldn't be an issue. I don't believe that
iTunes is playing the file from disk. Most likely it is reading the
file into memory and playing it from memory. It should only be reading
on 40-50 MB file every 3-4 minutes, not a big load on iTunes part.
