I am new to OpenGL as well as Mac OS.
I want to learn OpenGL and I have been reading about it.

My question is:-
1. where do I write and compile the progrms of OpeGL? That is, where EXACTLY
do I write stuff like glClear() and other OpenGL lines of code to run the
program???

2. How does Cocoa or Carbon fit into all this (if at all it does)?

Please reply asap... I have a project to start on!

When you install the Xcode dev-tools you get sample code, have you looked at it? If not, that's probably a good place to start.

There are more sample code available at developer.apple.com.

There are more sample code and articles available at google.com.
